Dana Street Elementary Center recently hosted the Pennsylvania State Police K-9 Unit

Third grade students in Wyoming Valley West School District’s Dana Street Elementary Center recently hosted the Pennsylvania State Police K-9 Unit as an extension to their English Language Arts curriculum.  Teachers Mrs. Zekas, Mrs. Forgash, Mrs. Doyle and Ms. Proleika invited PA State Police Corporal Doblovasky and Trooper Rogowski to share about personal and work-related demands as K-9 officers in conjunction as a compliment to students reading “Aero and Officer Mike” in class.  Students learned about K-9 officer training, special skills, handling and observed a K-9 search demonstration.  Pictured in the photograph from left to right in row one are: Samuel Favata, Jaxon Wildey and Lilyana Moser; row two are: K-9 Officer Khan, Trooper Rogowski, Sydney Wandel, Elias Sieminski, Abigail Pawlowski, Millie Perkoski, Ryan Cardillo and Mrs. Zekas (teacher).
