Kindergarten Registration for the 2022-2023 school year is currently being conducted.
Parents may register children for kindergarten if the child is five years of age on or before September 1, 2022. (No Exceptions)
First grade entrants must be six years of age on or before September 1, 2022. (No Exceptions)
Kindergarten Registration can now be accessed 24/7 on-line by visiting the Wyoming Valley West School District website, www.wvwsd.org. If you do not have access to a computer, you can call the Central Office at 570-288-6551 ext. “0” to use a district computer to register. When you complete the registration on-line, you will be prompted to make an on-line appointment to finalize the registration process. You do not physically need to come in for the appointment. You are required to upload/submit the following documents:
child’s birth certificate
proof of residency (current utility bill, PA ID, or a lease in your name).
After your registration is finalized, you will be notified by the school of a date in May for the Kindergarten screenings. Screenings include vision, hearing, education, gross motor control and immunization/health history.
The following immunizations are required:
4 doses of tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis (1 dose of this vaccine must be administered on or after the 4th birthday); 4 doses of polio (4th dose on or after 4th birthday and at least 6 months after previous dose given); 3 doses of hepatitis B; 2 doses of measles, mumps and rubella (MMR); 2 doses of varicella (chicken pox) or proof of disease.
