PA Junior Academy of Science - STATE Level Results

Recently (mid-May), the Wyoming Valley West School District had nine (9) students present projects for the state meeting of the PA Junior Academy of Science.  This meeting was held on the main campus of Penn State University, State College, PA.  The students had to qualify to attend, based on the regional meeting in March.

The following students earned state level awards in the mathematics category:

First Row:  Max Saporito (11th) 1st Award, 4-year Perseverance Award, and a PA Science Talent Search Recommendation; Emily Bolan (8th); 1st Award; Ariel Chu (8th) 1st Award; Murphy Pick (11th) 1st Award with a Perfect Score, Senior High Excellence Award, 5-year Perseverance Award, and a PA Science Talent Search Recommendation; and Zach Konopke (11th) one 1st Award, one 2nd Award, and a PA Science Talent Search Recommendation.

Second Row:  Madelyn Evan (10th) 1st Award; Rebecca Bealla (10th) 1st Award; Mrs. Maria Konopke, Sponsor; Jade McKenna (11th) 1st Award; and Abigail Singer (9th) 2nd  Award.
