As we approach Veterans’ Day on Thursday, November 11, 2021, the Wyoming Valley West Middle School recognizes the dedication and honor our veterans provide in our security and comfort.  Family Consumer Science Teacher Mrs. Tillger and Social Studies Department Chair Mrs. Petrone coordinated Sneakers for Soldiers, Snacks for Soldiers and Letters for Soldiers among sixth, seventh and eighth grade students.  On Saturday, November 6, 2021, Mrs. Tillger will travel to Malvern, PA to meet Deborah and John Hausladen, founders of Sneakers for Soldiers, to deliver the following for our veterans abroad:

• Twenty-seven (27) copy paper boxes filled with jerky, granola, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, candy and energy bars
• A bag of letters, cards and personal notes
• A check from middle school donors totaling $3,311.00

The Wyoming Valley West Middle School has been supporting the Sneakers for Soldiers mission since 2019 and to date has raised over $9,000.00 in support.
