On Thursday, March 9th, 2023, nine juniors and nine seniors competed at Wilkes University in the 75th Annual Math Competition sponsored by Luzerne County Council of Teachers of Mathematics (LCCTM). The students persevered through two hours of testing, containing a total of 40 challenging math questions without the use of a calculator.
Two juniors- Evelyn Saltz and Elvis Castanos placed in the top 10 out of 57 students. Seniors George Hebda, Murphy Pick, Max Saporito, Mohamed Meshal and Lulia Debru, all achieved scores in the top half of the competitors, with the WVW senior team score ranked 4th out of 10 schools. All students who participated should be proud of their accomplishment and for representing Wyoming Valley West so well. Congratulations on a job well done!
