Pennsylvania Music Educators Associate District 9 Orchestra Festival
This past Wednesday through Friday, over 20 different school districts met at the WVW high school to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators associate District 9 Orchestra festival. Miss Christine Attanasio-the Wyoming Valley West high school and elementary school string teacher, hosted the event that was under the direction of Dr David Tedford, whom is an esteemed conductor currently with Mansfield, Lackawanna and Bloomsburg Universities orchestras. Over 75 students from all over came together to put on an outstanding concert with hundreds in attendance this past Friday night in the high school auditorium. The event couldn't have happened without much help from Mr Kolojejchik, Mr Davis, volunteer and donations from some of the WVW orchestra parents, the cafeteria staff and janitorial staff at the high school for working with us, the secretarial staff for helping rearrange schedules so we could use the auditorium, all of the HS faculty and staff, the administration and school board, and many of the Tri-M music honors society students as well as orchestra students that volunteered to be runners for the event.
